Finding the Slope of a Line
SummaryTranscript of Key information from the Video

Slope is equal to the change in Y on top of the change in X.

When we have two points on a line, it's very useful to use slope formula.

We don’t always have to use slope formula. Another way of getting slope is by practicing something called A Slope Triangle.

When we know we have two points that go through the line, we can draw a triangle that these points define.

Following the triangle, we can now observe and count vertical change and horizontal change.

The vertical change is the difference going up and down.

The horizontal change is how much change happens going across, meaning going side to side going across.

Slope is change in Y on top of change in X.

When a line is decreasing, it will be a negative slope.
